The European Commission has released the "Regulatory technical standards about Key Information Documents for PRIIPs" (RTS). According to RTS, by the end of 2017 all investment products sold in the European Market to retail investors must have a corresponding “PRIIP KIDs” (Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products Key Information Document). Even if there is a grandfathering period until end of 2019 for UCITS funds, they are nevertheless impacted by this deadline as soon as they are sold via Multi Option (an investment product which includes a mix of UCITS and non-UCITS funds). All AIF Alternative Investment Funds ("AIF") available for retail investors must provide PRIIP KIDs by latest 31 December, 2017.
fundinfo will be fully prepared for the introduction by extending its services to include publication and dissemination of PRIIP KIDs. To support fund houses and PRIIP KIDs manufacturers to prepare their systems for the inclusion of metadata in these documents, we have released a new version of our technical manual 'Document Transfer System' which introduces the new code "PRP" which stands for “PRIIP Key Information Document”.
We will closely examine all regulatory and technical standards concerning PRIIP KIDs to ensure that our services cover all regulatory requirements.
