Introduction to openfunds
This white paper describes openfunds, a global standard for the characterisation of investment funds. The goal of the openfunds standard is to improve efficiency by eliminating potential sources of error and ambiguity during fund data interchange. openfunds does this by providing a common, normalised standard for fund characterisation which improves and facilitates the processing and exchange of fund data between fund houses, fund distributors and fund platforms. Investors ultimately benefit from increased transparency, reliability and improved ability to evaluate and compare investment funds.
This white paper describes the different formats for encapsulating MiFID II and PRIIPs data, and the various options for delivering it to your business partners.
With the introduction of MiFID II in January 2018, Fund Providers must now oversee distributors and sub-distributors to ensure compliance with their distribution strategies and ensure that they are selling their funds to the appropriate clients. This white paper gives an overview of DOR regulatory requirements and proposes a bottom-up solution based on the openfunds standard.
