Fund Experts Forum 2014

This year’s Fund Experts Forum at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute in Rüschlikon took place on 9-10 April 2014 and was entitled “SEARCH FOR YIELD”. Mark Dittli, editor-in-chief of the Swiss newspaper Finanz und Wirtschaft, presented the exciting programme.

The forum began in the afternoon of day one with interesting interviews and talks with William R. White (chairman of the Economic and Development Review Committee, EDRC), Prof. Dr. Peter Bernholz, Dr. Alfred Roelli (Economist at Bank Pictet & Cie SA), Peter Bodenmann, Dr. Serge Gaillard (Director of the Federal Finance Administration FFA) and Dr. Michael Hasenstab (CIO and fund manager at Franklin Templeton Investments) to name a few. Day one ended with a convivial dinner with lively networking and many interesting conversations.

The following day, the 150 participants enjoyed the presentations on competitiveness by Professor Dr. Stéphane Garelli from IMD Lausanne and on speculative bubbles in securities markets by Professor Dr. Didier Sornette. In the group discussions that followed, the attendees were able to exchange views with leading fund managers on specific topics and seek expert advice.

In the final talk with racing driver and model Christina Surer, the guests learnt about the joys, defeats and risks of motor sports.

“Durable Medium” Breakfast Event

On 01.04.2014 we had the pleasure of meeting numerous people from the fund industry at MainNizza in Frankfurt. Most of those who attended were fund companies and distributors.

The cooperation between fundinfo and Bundesanzeiger Verlag was the subject of several talks and presentations. At the breakfast meeting, our speakers presented an overview of the topic along with the problems currently posed by the “durable medium”. A new solution was presented by Bundesanzeiger Verlag and fundinfo that focused on the correct classification of notices to investors as well as archiving, dissemination to custodians and optimal publication of the same.

It is precisely in these areas that we can efficiently apply our knowledge, infrastructure and extensive publication platform and form a strong duo with our cooperation partner to offer a comprehensive service.

We also attended the financial trade show “Salone del Risparmio” in Milan on 26-28 March 2014, where we spent three exciting days, too.

We welcome any suggestions, requests and questions, which will help us continue to improve www.fundinfo.com and make our fund platform as useful and valuable a tool as possible.

Yours faithfully,
