Winners and losers in interest for ETFs on U.S. equities

Vanguard seems to be on the verge of replacing iShares as the most sought-after ETF for U.S. equities.

The download of fund documents for passive products on U.S. equities has exceeded that of active funds since the beginning of 2017; the ratio is now 60 to 40. Since autumn 2017 we have been observing a particular ETF with a significant gain in views share:

Interest in the Vanguards S&P 500 UCITS ETF has almost doubled since last autumn. With a close to 10% views share among ETFs on U.S. equities, it has almost caught up with its fiercest competitor from iShares.

iShares Core S&P 500 UCITS ETF is still number one but lost interest, above all, among investors from Switzerland and Italy, while SPDR S&P US Dividend Aristocrats UCITS ETF experienced falling interest across all channels amongst clients based predominantely in Germany as well as in Switzerland.
